Participation Course Topics - Medical Emergency: Bell Ringer -
Protocol, Simulations, Practical Applications, Didactic and Clinical
Participation course recommended for the dental office as a team

This combination videotape case and power point review followed by participation hands-on experience offers the entire office team an opportunity to go far beyond practicing their CPR and BLS training in dental office simulated situations. Rotation through 7 stations allows the registrants to practice and learn the following skills.

Station 1: Oxygen Therapy, Tank, Cannula, Bag, Valve, Mask Use
Station 2: Blood Pressure Essentials, Pulse, Regularities, Irregularities
Station 3: Drawing Drugs, Ampules, Vials
Station 4: Intra Muscular Technique Demo, Technique Performance Opportunity
Station 5: Pulse Oximetry and Automatic External Defibrillators
Station 6: Emergency Kits
Station 7: Mega Rescue Simulations

This totals a full day CE course. The first half day is in a lecture format with slides (power point) and videotapes of unlimited attendance. The following half day is the pure participation portion. I have directed this course in hotels, but it is equally effective in an office setting, a dental clinic or an oral surgery department.  The office venue ensures the required equipment is available to the participants. We also may need some personnel such as Oral Surgery residents or nurses or auxiliaries to assist with monitoring. Personnel support will also determine the enrollment limits, but only for this half day.
